Day 1: Churches, monasteries and hermitages, history and religion in the heart of the Euganean Hills





Description:
A first glimpse of this wonderful park, a pleasant excursion that combines the pleasure of discovering the flavor of local culinary traditions. All the places we will visit are full of history and nature. Depart from Torreglia passing through the village of Commendation we will admire the fortification of Castelletto before heading to the Roccolo Bonato we will leave to head on the slopes of Mount Rua on top of which we will admire the monastery of the Camaldolese hermits, with its system constituted by the church, the small cells of the monks, vegetable gardens and beautiful gardens. We will continue to Mount Venda where we will visit the monumental ruins of the Monastery of the Olivetani. See along the way the traces of the old bunkers located in these places because of the abundance of chestnut trees of the surrounding woods. Along the way we will cross the various surroundings of the richest flora of Italy, we will admire the pseudo-Mediterranean vegetation and the beautiful chestnut woods. We will do a short break in some farms or winery participating in the project “The Wine Route”, they will allow you to taste the famous wines of the Euganean Hills, as well as delicious dishes of the local tradition. During the return to the B&B, we will visit the village of mills Torreglia and ancient aqueduct of the Fonte Regina.
Day 2: Monte Fasolo, Gemola e Monte Cinto, stories of Saints and Bandits





Description:
This tour takes us along the ridge of the mountain Fasolo amongst a lush Mediterranean vegetation, we will be taking on the fork between Mount Rusta and Gemola on which we will visit Villa Beatrice d’Este seventeenth-century transformation of the Monastery where Beatrice d’Este lived.
After the visit we will proceed toward the mount Cinto where we will visit a suggestive place with a legendary name: the Buso dei Briganti (the Bandits’caves) a natural cavity that opens to the peak on the eastern plain and on the mounts Berici. Climbing down from the hill we’re going to see the village of Bomba an industrial archaeological site called Cava Bomba transformed into the Museum of Geopaleontologico Collli Hills. Along the easy path we will find interesting geological sites, luxuriant chestnuts woods, prairies and amazing landscapes.
Day 3: Mysteries and Medieval villages




Description:
Discover the enchanting Medieval village of Arquà Petrarca, the Poets Petrarca chose this village for living the last days of his life. Surrounded by gentle hills and vineyards, visit one of the most famous wineries in the area, digged in the rock.
Later, we will go through the path, surrounded by the flora of Euganean Hills.
Day 4: Ancient wall cities, Valnogaredo and farms.




Description:
The morning will be dedicated to the wall cities and especially to the local foods and wines. Este, founded by the Venetian and colonized by Romans. We will visit the garden inside the wall of the castle, the Torre del Soccorso and the Mastio; then we will proceed for the guided tour of the National museum of Este and then we will take a stroll through the city center to discover the most characteristic places of this city. Later we will go to Monselice where we will visit a part of the city walls, the Cini castle is rich of history and military collections, the rock of Federico II and the pieve (church)of Santa Giustina, the itinerary of 7 churches which conduce to the panoramic Villa Duodo where we will visit the striking oratory. During the tour of the city we will visit the Antiquarium Longobardo, nearby the castle, the Torre Civica and the most typical places of the most ancient part of the city.
After lunch we will reach Valnogaredo, an ancient Euganean village, close to the beautiful villa Contarini, we will visit the ancient Oil Mill of Euganean Hills where we can taste the fine oil produced in this area. The afternoon will proceed with an excursion that will take us to admire the striking hills shaped by human work to allow the growing of vines and olives.
During spring season, we will find the almond blossom and Judas tree, during autumn we will admire the colors of the vineyards. Along the way we will visit the site of the Buso dea Casara important Roman aqueduct which through a series of stone pipes supplied water to the city of Este.
